Another Tag It Card

Here's a really cute card which again uses the RMHC set called
Tag It (page 45 of the cattie). It also uses the coordinating Chalk Talk Dies. Can you tell that I really like this set?

Tag It Card

I found this card in our Demonstrator Gallery and really like it. It uses the new set called Tag It which is found on Page 45 of the Catalogue. Not only is it a really cute set, but for each set sold StampinUp donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities!

Another Giggle Card!

Another Giggle Greetings Card. I love this set. I also used my favorite new Designer Paper "I Am Me" and the fun new Candy Dots.

Giggle Greetings!

I know it has been a while since I posted but with summer here, life sometimes seems to take over. I did have some play time yesterday and this is one of the cards I made. It uses one of my new favorite sets called Giggle Greetings. It is a very simple but fun card I think.
I had a great time at my New Cattie Kickoff and BOGO Event last week! It was great to see everyone that was able to attend.

If you were unable to attend but would like to browse my stamps for sale, you can click here. Once you have the list you can click on any set and it will take you to the index picture of the set on Splitcoaststampers Gallery. BOGO is over however I have substantially reduced the prices of my sets.

Humane Society Cards

If you are coming to my New Cattie Kickoff & BOGO Event next Wednesday, June 12th, don't forget your Toonies! This is just a sample of the cards that will be available for purchase for a $2 Donation to the Humane Society of Ottawa. They come packaged with an envelope so are all ready to send!
Thanks to all of you, last year we donated $500! This year so far we have donated another $200.

If you haven't registered for this event already, click here.
Here is another card we made at our meeting on Sunday. This attractive card was shared by Tracie S. and uses the new Mosaic Madness stamp set, Mosaic Punch and Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, as well as the Chalk Talk stampset.
Yesterday I attended a group meeting at my friend and fellow demo Tracie's house. We did a shoebox swap, which means everyone brought a card for the group to make.  This card was shared by Marianne C. It used one of the new Hostess Sets which I really like called Morning Meadow and also used the new InColor cardstock Baked Brown Sugar. The technique on this card is Emboss Resist. A really pretty card!

Sneak Peek

Isn't this a nice card? It uses products from the new catalogue which starts tomorrow, May 31st. If you would like to see more samples, products and buy my retired products, you won't want to miss my Catalogue Kickoff and BOGO event on June 12th. Click here to register and see all the details.

Stamps: Label Love, Wildflower Meadow Background
Ink: Strawberry Slush
Cardstock: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Misc: Wildflower Embossing Folder, Artisan Label Punch, Dimensionals

I am not sure if I am going to be able to part with the Aviary stamp set when it retires on June 1st.  I really do like it! I find it is suitable for so many different types of cards.

Stamps: Flowering Flourishes, Aviary
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Misc: Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Pearls, Dimensionals
Ok, Ok, I know this isn't stamping but just had to share this! Many of you have met, or heard me speak of, "Stupid" and looked at me strangely when I called him that. Does this explain how this poor creature got his nickname?? BTW, his name is actually Spencer.

Make A Monster Card

This is one of my favorite stamp sets and I am really sad that it is retiring at the end of May. It is called Make a Monster and I just love playing with all the different monster parts! The greeting comes from the Henry Says stamp set that is in the Spring Mini and also leaving at the end of the month. I find that this greeting pairs really well with the Monsters! I colored my images with ink and a blender pen.
Another card made using the Bombs Away Birthday Photopolymeric stamp set. Someone somewhere came up with the idea to pair this saying with punch art records made with circle punches and I think it is totally brilliant!  You can hardly see it in the picture, but the records have "tracks" which were pierced using the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. To see the entire stamp set, click here.
When I was rumaging around in my "stuff" yesterday I came across these In Color Dahlias and realized it had been forever since I used one so this card was born! I used one of my favorite, and most versatile, sets called Embellished Events. The greeting is from the Made for You set which is retiring at the end of May and I will really miss this small greeting set as well! The Designer Paper is from the Print Poetry Pack featured in the Spring Mini (and also leaving us at the end of the month) which I cut using the Tasteful Trim Die and BigShot. A quick and simple card!

Bordering on Romance Card

I was starting to organize my stamps and cards in view of the retirement list and came across this card that has been on display in my stamping studio for a long time. I think it is one my favorites of all time. It uses the stamp set Bordering on Romance which is retiring at the end of the month. I must admit that I don't understand why this set is leaving us? I love it. I stamped the image in VersaMark and embossed with White embossing powder. I then lightly colored my flowers with ink and an aquapainter.

Bombs Away Stamp Set

I LOVE this card! I found it in our demonstrator share gallery and it was created by someone named Heidi from Western Canada. It uses the new Photopolymer stamp set called Bombs Away, which I just had to have for myself.

Item #133411   $16.95

Today's card is made with the Pleasant Poppies stamp set stamped on First Edition Specialty DP with Black Stazon.  I stamped it again on Very Vanilla cardstock and colored the large flowers and buds using a Blender Pen and ink pads. I then cut them out and attached them over the stamped flowers on the DP. I colored the stems directly on the DP using a Blender Pen to pick up the ink.

Stamp Sets: Pleasant Poppies, Made for You
Ink: Black StazOn, Soft Suede, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, River Rock, Soft Suede
Misc: Blender Pens, Pool Party Seam Binding,  Finishing Touches Edgelits, Big Shot
With the sun shining and the snow gone, I figured it was an appropriate time to share a golf themed Birthday card.

Stamp Set: Bring on the Cake
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, Miscellaneous DP
Misc: Extra Large Oval Punch,  Petite Pennants Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack,
Owl Builder Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Basic Black Marker,
          Dimensionals
RETIREMENT LISTS

Stampin'Up! has published the lists of stamp sets and accessories that will be leaving us to make room for new and exciting products in the new catalogue coming May 31st.
Stamp sets will be available until  June 3 and accessories will only be available while supplies last.

To access the list of retiring stamp sets, click here

Unfortunately Stampin'Up! is experiencing a technical glitch with the Retiring Accessories list right now but you can still view them in my online store.

Musical Card

Another simple but nice card!

Stamp Sets: Aviary, Fabulous Phrases
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Misc: 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Music Notes Wheel,
           Dimensionals, Pearls, Stamp-a-ma-Jig

I tried a new (that is, new to me) color combination to make this card. I used Tangerine Tango and Real Red. I love how it turned out, but this picture does not do it justice. For some reason these are really hard colors to photograph. In real life, the colors just pop! Give this combination a try.
Another cute simple card that I found on our Demo site. It uses A Round Array stamp set that you can purchase now as a preview to the new cattie.

Stamp Sets: A Round Array, Just Believe
Ink: Island Indigo, Calypso Coral
Cardstock: Whisper White, Island Indigo
Misc: In Color Printed Brads, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch,
         Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon, Dimensionals

Dare to Dream

I saw a card like this when I was browsing online and had to make my own. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the person who created the original card or I would share it here.

I love this technique as it is so simple to do but so pretty. I spread Crystal Effects over a piece of window sheet and then swirled some Melon Mambo reinker around. I let it dry over night and then cut out the butterfly using the Big Shot and the Beautiful Butterflies BigZ Die. I attached it to a white card with just one strip of sticky strip in the middle of the butterfly so that I could lift the wings. I then drew the line with a black marker and attached jewels, some of which I had colored with a pink Sharpie marker. My greeting comes from the Loving Thoughts stamp set and is stamped in black.
COLOR REFRESH
Stampin' Up! announced that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalogue will include 10 new colours (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! They are welcoming back some of your favourites, moving some colours around, and introducing one brand-new colour, so take a look! Starting April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued colour products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last.

Happy Easter

I just want to wish you all a very Happy Easter with friends and family!

Chalkboard Card

Isn't this card absolutely fabulous?! My friend and fellow demo Linda Willman brought it to me today and I love it! It is done with the chalkboard technique, as well as some of the great Sale-a-bration products. I will try to list the products she used below.

Stamps: Vintage Verses, Woodgrain Background
Ink: VersaMark, Whisper White Craft Ink. Soft Suede
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Various Designer Papers
Misc: White Embossing Powder, Sponge Dauber, White Bakers, Twine, Petite Curly Label
Punch(SAB),  Sycamore Street Ribbon (SAB), 1 3/8" Square Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes
Punch Pack, Owl Builder Punch, Jewels, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Monster Card

I don't know what I was thinking when I started this card, but it DEFINITELY wasn't this! I am not that fond of how it turned out, but I thought I would share my goof. I was aiming for a card that would be suitable for a young person but think I missed the mark. Oh well, they can't all turn out the way you want. Back to the drawing board!

Mixed Bunch

I think this is my favorite card from the ones we made at the Mixed Bunch Class last week. There are a lot of steps to making it but I think the end result is worth it!

Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Petite Pairs
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Crumb Cake
Misc: Blossom Punch, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Beautiful Wings Embosslits,
Adorning Accents Folder, Designer Frames Folder, 1" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Jewels, Black Sharpie Marker

Field Flowers Card

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Field Flowers, Sweet Essentials
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Print Poetry Designer Paper
Ink: Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Gumball Green
Misc: Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Pearls

Mixed Bunch Birthday Card

Today's card uses two of my favorite stamp sets as well as what is definitely one of my favorite color combinations. It really didn't take long to make and this picture doesn't do it justice. It is really pretty in real life.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Mixed Bunch, Elements of Style, Create a Cupcake
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black
Misc: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Blossom Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Dimensionsals,
          Large Jewel

Aviary Card

Here is one of the cards I made using the Aviary stamp set. I had never used it before and now I really like it. The card took a bit longer than usual to make because I had to cut out the three birdcages but I DO think it was worth the effort!

Supplies:
Stamps: Aviary
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Basic Black, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Ink: Black StazOn, Marina Mist
Misc: Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Jewels, Black
Sharpie,  Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Pearls, White Baker's Twine

Sale-a-bration Preview

Sale-a-bration starts soon (January 22nd) and this is one of the sets that you can get for FREE when you place a $60 order. It is called Feeling Sentimental and makes terrific Man cards! The background of this card is Early Espresso Core'dinations Cardstock embossed with the new Honeycomb Embossing Folder found in the Spring Catalogue and then sanded. I stamped the image on Very Vanilla cardstock with Early Espresso ink, distressed all the edges and lastly sponged Early Espresso around the edges. I don't think my picture turned out very well as this is much nicer IRL!

Spencer's Card

Some of you might have seen the original of this card in my latest newsletter, and read about how I would have to modify it. Well, here is my personalized version of this card, as well as a coaster I made for Spencer's (our bigger dog) Doctor that took care of him throughout the ongoing saga of his broken toe and finally the amputation of said toe. Believe me, caring for big, goofy, Spencer (a.k.a. "Stupid") can be a challenge any time so everyone at the Animal Hospital deserves a big Thanks!

January Basic & Beautiful Class

I had fun making this cute card using the new stamp set called Henry Says from the Spring Catalogue. If you like this card it is one of the cards we will be making at my Basic & Beautiful Class on Monday, January 28th. You can see the details and register here.

Papillon Potpourri

Here is a card that I made a while ago and forgot to share. It uses one of my favorite color combinations, Pretty in Pink and Black.
I really like that, just by turning the Scallop Dots Ribbon over, it looks like you are using two different ribbons!

Supplies:
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Made for You
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black
Misc: Fancy Fan Folder Embossing Folder, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch,
Rhinestone Jewels, Black Scallop Dots Ribbon
