I haven't had much time to play lately as I have been madly prepping for Stamping University. However, after seeing this card on our Demo site, I just had to make time to make my own! I love these colors together. If you haven't guessed already, the front on this card is actually made from our Fresh Cut Note Cards. I used the front only of the note card and ran it through the Big Shot with the new Square Lattice Embossing folder from the Summer Mini, then mounted a piece of the Island Oasis Designer Paper behind the flower cutout. The entire piece is then mounted on a scallop square of Pumpkin Pie which was cut with the Clear Square Scallop die using the Big Shot. The flowers and leaves are from the Tropical Party set and the buttons are the Bitty Buttons mounted on card stock which was punched using the new Itty Bitty Punch Shapes. The Modern Label is punched from Rose Red and mounted on Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon. The finished card measures 5 1/4" square.
Had a great stamping party on Monday night with Trina and her friends! Seeing as most of them were club members, I wanted to do something a bit special with them. I found some of the Wood Sheets (Pg. 158 in the cattie) I had bought a long time ago and thought they would make a terrific fence, especially once I sprayed them with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz which is available in the Summer Mini. I used the Inspired by Nature set with markers to get only the single flower and stamped some of the grass along the bottom. Sponged Bashful Blue lightly for the background and added some butterflies using the Embosslit Beautiful Wings. The greeting is from the set Happy Everything. I was really pleased with the way it all came together.
A quick and easy card to share with you today. The card base is Kraft cardstock with the flower from Fifth Avenue Flowers stamped in White Craft Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I then colored all the petals and stems with a VersaMarker, and used a Crushed Curry marker for the center of the flowers to give a pop of color. The ribbon is Crushed Curry and the greeting is from Well Scripted. This card did not take long to make but I really like the end result!
Here is another card made by my fellow demonstrator Michelle. She used the new set called King of the Grill from the Summer Mini. I would love to receive this invitation to a party! The white piece in the middle comes out completely and contains all the party details.
Today's card features a technique that I have wanted to try for a while. It is called Sepia (the same as the photo type) and it is super easy. I stamped the main image on Kraft card stock using Basic Brown ink (which is waterproof), and then added the light color by diluting Vanilla craft ink. Added a bit more Basic Brown ink with an aquapainter to darken some of the areas in the bird. Did some sponging with Basic Brown, mounted on Vanilla, distressed the edges, added a Jumbo brad and a piece of Soft Suede ribbon tied with hemp, and then mounted all onto a Kraft 4 1/4" square card. To finish it off I stamped the greeting on Vanilla, distressed the edges and sponged Basic Brown. I also sponged the edges of the card.
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM STAMPIN'UP!

Stampin'Up! has just announced that they are running out of stock on some of the retiring card stocks. In some cases, they will be substituting Textured card stock for the smooth until that is gone as well, and then there will be no more available. If there is any card stock in a retiring color that you want, I would suggest that you order it immediately to avoid disappointment. You can call or email me directly with your order, or shop online.

Here is a list of the colors that are retiring:

Glorious Green, Green Galore, Gable Green,
YoYo Yellow, Only Orange, Pink Passion
Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac
Brilliant Blue, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel
Really Rust, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral
Summer Sun, Bordering Blue, Brocade Blue
Ballet Blue, Taken With Teal, Handsome Hunter
Pale Plum, Blush Blossom, Apricot Appeal
Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Sage Shadow,
Almost Amethyst, Lavender Lace
I thought I would share a couple of the cards we made last week at the Brayering Class. The card on the left was brayered with elastics, and, yes, I know I have my seasons totally mixed up for the card on the right! LOL! I can explain. I brayered my background first, and then the only thought that came to mind was "Spooky", so I went with it!
Isn't this a cute card? It was made by fellow demonstrator Michelle and she used the new stamp set Sweet Scoops available in the Summer Mini Catalogue. To view the new Mini, click on the picture on the right hand side of the screen.
