Isn't this a really cute card? I saw it at a demo meeting last week and would love to credit the designer but couldn't find a name on it. Once again, the owl punch has been put to good use to create this cute reindeer. The snowflake punch was used for his antlers and his nose is made from some really glittery red paper that will be available in the Occasions Mini catalogue starting in January. I just stuck a red rhinestone in the middle of the nose for some extra bling!
How do you like my 'Santa Bucket'? I haven't decided what I will fill it with, maybe candy canes or chocolates, but I think it will be on my table at Christmas.

The pattern for this Pillow Box Bucket can be found here at Splitcoaststampers. The way mine is decorated is a copy of one that I saw on our Demo Site. To make this 'bucket' you need the Pillow Box Die and Big Shot.

Today's share is a holiday gift tag to add a bit of fun to your holiday gift giving. The stamp set I used is Punch Pals and the colors are Marina Mist, Riding Hood Red, and Wild Wasabi. Of course, it needed some sparkle, so I added Dazzling Diamonds to their scarves. A piece of Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon completes it.
Today's card uses one of my favorite stamp sets - Holiday Lineup. The main image is stamped in black on white cardstock and the greeting is stamped in Real Red on a strip of white cardstock and attached under the stamped image. I then put sticky tape all around the greeting piece and covered with red chunky glitter. Applied the same glitter to the nose using 2 Way Glue.

Santa Coaster

I have wanted to put these two images together for a long time, and finally got it done today! How do you like my new Coaster?

Supplies:Jolly Old Saint Nick and Just Believe Stamp Sets; Black StazOn Ink; Red Sharpie Marker; Clear Gloss Krylon Spray; and a 4" white tile.

Isn't this a cute card? I was so disappointed a few years ago when my favorite Christmas stamp set, which had mittens in it, retired. Well, I am happy again! I got the idea for these mittens from our Stampin'Up! Demonstrator site and they are really easy to make using our Wide Oval and Small Oval punches. Just cut a strip of designer paper for the cuff ( I used the retired paper Tropical Party), add some silver tinsel from the Mini Catalogue, Real Red Grosgrain to hang them, and a few white stitches with a White Signo Gel Pen and you have a pair of mittens! I attached them to a Tempting Turquoise card which I ran through the Big Shot with the Northern Flurries Embossing Folder, and used the new set Bright Christmas for the greeting, also from the Mini Catalogue.

Having my Halloween class last night put me in the mood! I made this quick and easy candle cover in no time with the Fancy Favor die and the Big Shot to cut out the box. I then punched a 2 1/2" circle out of the front, attached some vellum that I colored with Daffodil Delight ink inside. Then I used the Owl Punch, the Bird Punch for the Branch, and witch hat is from the stamp set Wicked Cool. Drop a small candle in and it's ready to glow!

I know that I have been MIA for a while! Life seemed to get extremely hectic for a while and then I was away for a bit of a vacation.

Today's card is just a quick card that I have been wanting to make for a while. I will share the technique used for this card once all of my clubs have learned it! For those of you who have already had their club night, you will know which technique this is. What do you think? I love the effect. The colors used were Very Vanilla and Soft Suede and the brad in the center is one of the gorgeous new Vintage Brads
Isn't this a lovely card? It was made by a fellow demonstrator Michelle Sturgeon using some of the products from the Holiday Mini. I like how she used Tangerine Tango with Cherry Cobbler. I have never used these colors together but now definitely will!

Stamp Sets: Just Believe, Paisley Prints, Paisley Party Wheel
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Misc: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Crochet Trim "Victoria"

This card is made with one of my new favorite sets called Artistic Etchings which is available in the new catalogue. You can't see it in the picture, but the center image actually shimmers! PREVIEW OF THINGS TO COME!

As demonstrators, we are offered the opportunity to purchase some items coming in the new catalogue in advance. The stamp set I used for this card is a new Level I Hostess Set called Because I Care. I wish the colors were better in my pic because the cardstock I used is one of the new In Colors called Concord Grape, and it is a fabulous deep grape color. The stem on the flower is also done with a new In Color called Pear Pizzazz.

SPRING FLOWERS CLASS

To celebrate the fabulous weather we are having, let's get together and make 4 special flower cards!

Date: Thursday, June 17th at 7:00 p.m.
Cost: $20 or FREE with a $45 order (before S&T)

To register, please email me directly at lpalisek@rogers.com
I haven't had much time to play lately as I have been madly prepping for Stamping University. However, after seeing this card on our Demo site, I just had to make time to make my own! I love these colors together. If you haven't guessed already, the front on this card is actually made from our Fresh Cut Note Cards. I used the front only of the note card and ran it through the Big Shot with the new Square Lattice Embossing folder from the Summer Mini, then mounted a piece of the Island Oasis Designer Paper behind the flower cutout. The entire piece is then mounted on a scallop square of Pumpkin Pie which was cut with the Clear Square Scallop die using the Big Shot. The flowers and leaves are from the Tropical Party set and the buttons are the Bitty Buttons mounted on card stock which was punched using the new Itty Bitty Punch Shapes. The Modern Label is punched from Rose Red and mounted on Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon. The finished card measures 5 1/4" square.
Had a great stamping party on Monday night with Trina and her friends! Seeing as most of them were club members, I wanted to do something a bit special with them. I found some of the Wood Sheets (Pg. 158 in the cattie) I had bought a long time ago and thought they would make a terrific fence, especially once I sprayed them with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz which is available in the Summer Mini. I used the Inspired by Nature set with markers to get only the single flower and stamped some of the grass along the bottom. Sponged Bashful Blue lightly for the background and added some butterflies using the Embosslit Beautiful Wings. The greeting is from the set Happy Everything. I was really pleased with the way it all came together.
A quick and easy card to share with you today. The card base is Kraft cardstock with the flower from Fifth Avenue Flowers stamped in White Craft Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I then colored all the petals and stems with a VersaMarker, and used a Crushed Curry marker for the center of the flowers to give a pop of color. The ribbon is Crushed Curry and the greeting is from Well Scripted. This card did not take long to make but I really like the end result!
Here is another card made by my fellow demonstrator Michelle. She used the new set called King of the Grill from the Summer Mini. I would love to receive this invitation to a party! The white piece in the middle comes out completely and contains all the party details.
Today's card features a technique that I have wanted to try for a while. It is called Sepia (the same as the photo type) and it is super easy. I stamped the main image on Kraft card stock using Basic Brown ink (which is waterproof), and then added the light color by diluting Vanilla craft ink. Added a bit more Basic Brown ink with an aquapainter to darken some of the areas in the bird. Did some sponging with Basic Brown, mounted on Vanilla, distressed the edges, added a Jumbo brad and a piece of Soft Suede ribbon tied with hemp, and then mounted all onto a Kraft 4 1/4" square card. To finish it off I stamped the greeting on Vanilla, distressed the edges and sponged Basic Brown. I also sponged the edges of the card.
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM STAMPIN'UP!

Stampin'Up! has just announced that they are running out of stock on some of the retiring card stocks. In some cases, they will be substituting Textured card stock for the smooth until that is gone as well, and then there will be no more available. If there is any card stock in a retiring color that you want, I would suggest that you order it immediately to avoid disappointment. You can call or email me directly with your order, or shop online.

Here is a list of the colors that are retiring:

Glorious Green, Green Galore, Gable Green,
YoYo Yellow, Only Orange, Pink Passion
Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac
Brilliant Blue, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel
Really Rust, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral
Summer Sun, Bordering Blue, Brocade Blue
Ballet Blue, Taken With Teal, Handsome Hunter
Pale Plum, Blush Blossom, Apricot Appeal
Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Sage Shadow,
Almost Amethyst, Lavender Lace
I thought I would share a couple of the cards we made last week at the Brayering Class. The card on the left was brayered with elastics, and, yes, I know I have my seasons totally mixed up for the card on the right! LOL! I can explain. I brayered my background first, and then the only thought that came to mind was "Spooky", so I went with it!
Isn't this a cute card? It was made by fellow demonstrator Michelle and she used the new stamp set Sweet Scoops available in the Summer Mini Catalogue. To view the new Mini, click on the picture on the right hand side of the screen.
Today's card once again uses the new stamp set coming in the Summer Mini called Elements of Style. For this card I used card stock in the following colors: Ruby Red, Basic Black, Sahara Sand. The embossed background is done with the Finial Press Embossing Folder, and then I rubbed some Sahara Sand ink over the raised portions. The center image is stamped in Basic Black and colored with Stampin Write Markers. I then did the cracked glass technique over top and rubbed a bit of Close to Cocoa ink over the cracks.

Today's card uses a couple of new products from the Summer Mini Catalogue, which starts May 1st. The stamp set is a beautiful one called Elements of Style and I love the new Embossing Folder Square Lattice. I used the old In Color Pink Pirouette card stock which is returning June 1st and, of course, I needed a hint of glitter so I embossed the bird with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The inspiration for this card came from one that I saw on our StampinUp Demo site.

Playing With My Brayer

I was playing with my brayer today and this is the result! This picture doesn't show the colors very well, but there are actually a couple of shades of blue in the sky. I used the Autumn Days and Thoughts and Prayers stamp sets for this card. Also did a bit of highlighting with the Signo White Gel Pen.
MY DIGITAL STUDIO PAGE

Today I wanted to share a scrapbook page I made with My Digital Studio. It was really easy to create and I love the way it turned out! Notice that I used the photo editing option to make the center photo black & white. (I saw this layout on someone's blog, but can't remember whose, sorry!)
Who's A Big Shot Now? Class

This is going to be a fun and very informative Class! Do you want to learn some new and different ways to use your Big Shot and products? Don't have a Big Shot but would like to learn more about it? Then join me at this class on Wednesday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m. Cost: $20 or FREE with a $45 order. These are just a couple of the projects that we will be making.
Acetate Card

Today's card is made with acetate and some of my favorite Designer Paper - Sweet Pea! (note to self: order Taken With Teal cardstock before it leaves us!) The card is white with a layer of Designer Paper on the front. I then stamped the image from the Razzle Dazzle stamp set and the butterfly from Garden Whimsy in White StazOn on the acetate. Attached this to the card at the top only where it would be hidden by the scallop strips I added. I dyed my white Taffeta Ribbon with Taken With Teal Ink and tied it around all the layers. The greeting is from Well Scripted.

Stampin'Up! announces a 'Color Renovation'! Starting with the new catalogue in July, there will be 5 new colors and 10 of our favorite In Colors will be returning! There will be 40 colors in 4 Color Collections.

New Colors: Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist

Returning In Colors: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, River Rock, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi

In addition, there will also be 5 new In Colors in the catalogue in July. I can't wait to see what they are!

At the same time, some of our existing colors will be retired. This means ink, refills, cardstock, ribbons, etc. Now would be a good time to stock up on these supplies. See the list below for retiring colors:

Petals A Plenty Card

When I decided to make a card today, I saw this Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder sitting on the table and decided to use it. I ran 2 pieces of whisper white card stock through the BigShot with the folder. One sheet I lightly sponged Almost Amethyst on the flowers and colored the dots in the center of each flower with a Crushed Curry Marker. The other embossed piece I used the same colors just in reverse. Then I had to decide what to do with them?? I liked them so much that I didn't want to cover them up completely, so I cut 3 strips, 2 with the Crushed Curry Flowers and 1 with the Amethyst. Mounted them on Almost Amethyst added the Crushed Curry Ribbon, Bow and large white brad, then mounted it on Crushed Curry and onto a white card. The greeting is from the On Your Birthday set, colored with Curry and Amethyst markers.

I love this embossing folder and am glad that SU decided to continue offering it.

Item #116824 Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder $10.95

FAUX PANELLING TECHNIQUE

This is a new technique for me! It really looks like panelling. I used the Sahara Sand Designer Paper that comes in the Level 1 Hostess Paper Pack. Cut a piece 3 1/2" long, and then cut 8 strips from this 1/4" wide. Lightly ink the edges of each strip with Sahara Sand ink. Cut a piece of the same DP 4" wide and I made mine 3 1/2" long. Start glueing the strips on top of this piece, using an extra strip as a guide for spacing. Once again I used the new set Awash With Flowers and my cardstock colors are Bordering Blue, Sage Shadow, and Very Vanilla.
SPRING IS HERE!

I hope Spring is here to stay. This card is definitely "Springy" (is that a word??) It uses the new two step stamp set that is available in April called Awash With Flowers. (Yes, I know some of you heard me say I wasn't buying it, but.....saw too many cute cards made with it!)

Ink: Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Orchid Opulence, Apricot Appeal & Black
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla
Greeting: On Your Birthday
Misc: Finial Press Embossing Folder, Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon

I forgot to mention that the butterfly in the left corner is actually one of the small flower stamps that I just drew a black line under. This stamp set has 18 pieces. The cling mount version actually arrives in two cases!

Wood mount:$52.95
Cling mount: $36.95

Demo Event Make and Takes

One of the fabulous demonstrators in our group won an event of a lifetime with Stampin'Up!'s Co-founder and CEO Shelli Gardner. She very kindly invited all the demonstrators in the area to a wonderful evening with Shelli last week. I was unable to attend, unfortunately, but my friend and fellow demo Tracie brought my make and takes home.

The first project was a great gift card holder made with the Top Note Die. Very cute and easy to make!
This really nice Mother's Day card is made with the Movers and Shapers Die and the Bird Punch from the Occasions Mini.
This fancy treat holder is made with the Milk Carton Die and Heavy Acetate. I closed it with a Mini Library clip. I think mine is already missing a couple of the chocolate eggs!
